I'm having some problems that I simply don't understand, hopefully you can give me some hint as to what is wrong here..
I have an X-box which works great with games and movies (original or not). Recently I started making some backups of my own movies to DVD-R, mainly because I'm not too keen on lending out my originals to friends (not everybody is as careful as I am, I've noticed, bleh). Problem is though, many of the titles I have processed simply refuse to play on the X-box!
I've tried using both Nero Recode or DVD-Shrink, and I've also done some rips using just IfoEdit (e.g. removing some stuff so it'll fit on a single disc). I've carefully processed the result in IfoEdit, e.g. correcting VTS sectors and such because I know some players are picky about this (edit: also tried not bothering with this, e.g. just burning the results from Nero or DVD-Shrink - same problem). When all looks well, I'm making an ISO image with ImgTool Classic, and finally I use DVDecrypter to burn it onto DVD-R.
The resulting discs play great on my computer, but very often they refuse to load on the X-box. It simply chugs on the disc for awhile and then reports "No disc". I find this quite confusing... I'm using the same brand of DVD-R's (Fortis) that I've always used, and I have about 50 burned movies on this media before (and they work great). It seems mainly to be the titles I process myself that have problems.
On titles that fit on a single DVD, I just copy the disc and that works fine on the X-box too. It seems to run into problems when I transcode the contents or otherwise modify the VOB structure on the disc, though. Has anybody else had problems with this and X-boxes, or?? I'd be very happy to hear your thoughts on this! :)
