If you want to backup files from your harddrive, which is the more reliable format to backup to? DVD+R or DVD-R? Is there any special way that you should be burning the discs to increase error correction or whatever? Or just toss the files into Nero and burn to disc?

Also, what's the best media. On the DVD-R side, I was going to use Ritek G04's and burn at 4x, but if DVD+R is better for storing data, then what sort of media should be used? I'm really scared that my entire music collection is going to be on 1 DVD and it's going to be unreadable in 2 years if my harddrive fails.

edit: Yeah, G04's at Riteks are a no go at 8x. Brain died for a second.

If you used Moser Baer media, it would not matter either if it is +R or -R; neither would be a good idea :D
