This was taken from the Tutorial that comes with AutoGK:

Step 3 (continued): There are other Output Size options besides the Predefined Size options. Maybe you have CDs of a different size than the standard 700 MB ones. Maybe you're going to keep the movie on the hard drive. In such cases you might want to choose a Custom Size. So tick Custom Size, and either fill in or use the up/down arrows to select a Custom Size. A Custom Size won't be split.

I didn't want AutoGK to split the movie for me as I prefer to split the movie by myself, so I tried to use Custom Size (1400MB). But when the convertion was done, AutoGK tried to split the movie in two 700mb files. As I didn't have enough space for it, I received two error messages when trying to save those two files. Hopefully the 1400mb file was kept intact and I could split it.
Is anyone having this problem?
btw, I am using AutoGK 1.0.

Hello and welcome to the forum-

That's interesting what you discovered. I guess that AutoGK reads a 1400 MB size setting, whether in the Predefined size, or in Custom size, as a file needing to be split. My suggestion is, if you really don't want it split, that you make it for something slightly different, like 1399 MB or 1401 MB. That would be OK for you, wouldn't it?

I really don't think that too many people make them for 1400 MB and don't want AutoGK to split them. But I could be wrong.

So what? Now I have to rewrite that guide to say, " A Custom Size won't be split, unless you happen to set it for 1400 or 2100 MB? :)

Of course there is no problem making a 1399mb file. :p
Just posted cause I knew I had chosen Custom Size and the program tried to split it. Posted just to check if I was not getting crazy or something.
Thanx for the reply. :D

I have the same problem - selecting 1400 mb custom size gets split anyways, so I always go for 1401 (I prefer to manually split and remux the audio to 128ms/128ms preload/interleave).

Gee, two of you. Are there more of you that like to split 2 CD rips yourselves? I might have to note that in the guide after all. :)

Besides re-interleaving (which lowers the muxing overhead from ~1.2% with 500m/1 frame to ~0.3% with 128ms/128ms), one of the other main reasons I prefer to manual split is because auto-splitting can't really employ any artificial intelligence, and therefore sometimes doesn't select the 'best' point within the 3~5mb window usually available for the split point. Quite often, it will split right in the middle of a conversation, which can be distracting when swapping cd's - if you manually split, you can usually move back and forth a few KF's to find a better point at a lull in conversation or action.
