Hi folks.

New to the DVD burning world (obviously). I've got a Liteon LDW-411SX (believe that's teh right model, going from memory). has an external USB2 interface. Using and AMD Athlon 2500 and WinXP Pro to run it.

Sometimes (not all) I get a SCSI command aborted error when trying to burn DVD's through DVDShrink. I know it's using Nero to burn. I have version 6.3. Since I'm still practicing I've been burning with RW's so I'm not making a lot of coasters but I was wondering if anyone had run across this and knew of possible solutions? I found some info on Nero's site and have adjusted accordingly but still seem to get this problem. I've tried different brands of media and burning different movies. I've also gotten a "semaphore" error. I didn't write this one down but will copy it if it happens again.

Also.. do you notice that some movies are harder to get a good backup of than others? I am having a devil of a time backing up Pirates of the Caribbean but other dual layers disks like Rat Race were no problem. I used the same media for both disks. POTC will play on my computer but not in my DVD player. Didn't know if this was a common issue.

Just wanted to say thanks for a great site with lots of information. Still working my way through the guides to learn all I can

TIA

Hello!

Make sure you have the latest USB drivers for your motherboard.

Also, in My Computer->Properties->Hardware->Device Manager,
you should see an entry something like "USB Port SCSI Adapter".

It may be under SCSI adapetrs, USB devices, or system devices.

Right click on it, get it's properties, and make sure you have the
latest driver for it.

Hope this helps
