Problems encoding with XMPEG

Recently I begin to use the program XMPEG 5.0 to encode ISO and VOB files and I have problems with it, probably due to my inexperience.
I begin with the programme using the Wizard assistent to do the job. The main film was in VTS__02_0.IFO file with VTS_02_01.VOB to VTS_02_06.VOB files all them in the VIDEO_TS directory . Following the indications of the user manual I select VTS__02_0.IFO to begin.
AlsoI select the stream of audio desired and I say do not want subtitles. I select the proper settings for video and audio codecs and all the rest of settings following the instructions of the user manuals.
I begin to encode the file and my surprise was that at the end of encoding, only the first file was encoded.
I investigate a little bit more and I have seen in the interface of the program there is a reproductor where I can add files to build up a project. I have included all the VOB file, 1 to 6, and encoding it. So I can obtain the 6 files encoded in 6 avi files but not in one.
Can you help me saying were is my fault or which must be the correct way to do an unique avi file with all the files included?

First- Please follow the rules and not double post.

It has been a long time since I used XMPEG but the is another file you need to get called dvd Mism that allows Xmpeg to seemlessly join the files in the background. You won't even notice it is doing it. Check this out (http://www.divx-digest.com/articles/xmpeg_setup.html)

IMHO you should download a copy of autoGK(sorry my links button isn't working for some reason.) You can do a search of the forum for a download link. It is very easy to use and I think you will be more than pleased with the results.

I have a newer version 5.0.3 and I have gone to your link, which is the official web of the program, but I can not found any download dvd mism program, may be due to with a new version will be not necessary.
But I am begining to think is this is the best program or is a litle bit obsolata. in this case can you recomendme a better one?

It states version 4.5 or newer. I don't know why the program author has chosen not to include this, but you need it. Go back to that link and follow the directions it gives you.


What is your desired outcome? Are you trying for Divx or Xvid, or are you wanting to burn to vcd, svcd, or dvd? The number of programs availible depends on what output you are looking for.

I have visited the link you told me but, unfortanately, the only possibility of download is the program XMPEG, may be that it contains your dvd MISM file.
My desired outcome is in DivX format for the moment.

You should download the following software, which are required for this article : Addon : XMPEG DVD Mism - extract to your installed Xmpeg directory


This is what you need. Install it in the directory It tells you to.

GordianKnot IMHO is a far better setup.
