Will CCE report if they skip frames while encoding?

Mainconcept reports skipped frames in the main window but what about CCE? I think jerky pictures could be because of skipped frames. Is it in the video information? If so what should I look for?

I'm not familiar with MainConcept's encoder, but CCE is not a real-time encoder, so it should not skip any frames. It should encode every frame that is available in the source.

As far as I am aware, MPG2 doesn't provide support for skipped frames. In my experience skipped frames is an AVI feature used in real-time capture to keep video in sync with audio, and perhaps a strategy for dealing with capturing on slow hardware (which really hasn't been an issue in the past few years - all modern hardware is more than fast enough to keep up).

Perhaps MainConcept's encoder is reporting skipped frames in the underlying AVI source? I don't really know, but I think I can safely say that any jerkiness you see in your encode is not the result of CCE skipping frames.

CCE will not skip frames. As Kederikin already pointed out, it's not a realtime encoder and if it can't read a frame, it will pop up an error message of some sort and stop.
