For those who are not aware of it, there's a new version out. Since 3.1.7 beta1, DVD Shrink is able to open .iso files. For more info:

My only question is that you REALLY have to dig to find those version. Unless someone does that, you have no idea a new beta is out...it's not even on the official Shrink site! It would be nice if the info would be more accessible. Like that ISO feature...it's new. That's great and thanks to dvd shrink for that but it's becoming a bit confusing because beta's are poping out of nowhere now and unless you dig in some forums you have no idea it's out.

Why the big secret? You post that it's out, that it's a beta and what have changed and let the people decide what they want to do...

Don't get me wrong. I'm extremely grateful for dvdshrink constant improvements on a great free software...I'm just saying that if the work is done why not let the info more accessible?;)

I'd be more worried if it was accessable. As a programmer I can assure you that many Beta's are buggy, and you do not want anyone but your Beta testers using them!

Otherwise your software's rep will take a dive coz everyone will be complaining about all the bugs!

I have actually been getting a little worried about the number of Beta's of DVD shrink coming out lately, because the author would have to be working just about full time on it at the moment to be releasing so many beta versions, and there being any chance of them being stable!

Therefore I am just happily sitting on version 3.1.4, not using the Beta's.

I doubt it's any big secret. There is simply no obligation to keep everyone informed, and there may be valid reasons *not* to make it generally available - from 'still in testing' to 'I need some sleep'. Always remember that DVDShrink is free.

You guys don't understand what I'm saying...You can read in my post that I am grateful and that I know it's free....I'm not saying dvdshrink is not doing enough..That guy has done more for us than anybody.I'm just saying that it's becoming confusing for people in general because you keep hearing different versions popping out every 2 days...that's all. Anyway..no biggy. Even Mr.Bass was starting to get confused on the shrink board so imagine the new guy reading the boards....

ddlooping didn't even know. Who knows...maybe they were on the dvdshrink.info chatroom ..I have no idea. Doesn't really matter though. Obviously if dvdshrink wanted major sites announcing it then he would. Evidently he just wants a few testing it. I do know he's wor....[shuts my mouth]. DVDShrink, the program can't get any worse...hehe.

Actually I never did release 3.1.7 beta 2. I uploaded it to dvdshrink.info, and then changed my mind, decided to do some more testing first. Someone grabbed it anyway! I don't know how, because I never posted a link.

What was intended for beta 2, and is now called beta 3, is officially released at dvdshrink.org.

I say released but I mean "available", for those who want to try the iso writing, it is very very beta.
