New installers & DivX decoder deblocking fix!

Hi guys!

Yesterday (Thursday 26th February '04) we released a new set of installers for all of our product bundles. No more VISE, we're all about NSIS here ;) (We love you Nullsoft!).

Included in the installation bundles is, as promised, an updated version of the DivX DirectShow filter (DivXDec.ax) that includes a fix for the de-blocking post-processing algorithm. The fix corrects an issue where high-contrast vertical edges in the picture would cause a bad macro-blocking effect. This was most notable in anime/cartoons.

However, because of ongoing work on the innards of the codec the deblocking issue does still affect the VFW codec (DivX.dll). In order to avoid introducing permanent blocks into your videos when re-encoding a DivX source via VFW-based applications you should disable post-processing for the VFW codec.

To do this click Start -> Run -> Type REGEDIT -> Click OK -> Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DivXNetworks\DivX4Windows -> Set Postprocessing to 0 -> Close RegEdit.

you can upgrage without uninstalling :)
if you don't like my codepack you can reinstall any other codepack and delete program files\nuclear codec pack folder manually

Just thought you had forgotten it in the latest update.

BTW! It would make a great (and small) codec-pack even greater ;-)
