Hi,

I´ve been doing some comp tests with Xvid 1.0 RC2, both manually and with AR calculator, and noticed that since quant 1 is now used in Xvid, the comp test values you get are much lower although the actual compressibility remains approximately the same.

What I mean is that 100% quality used to be with a fixed quantizer value of 2, but now it is with a fixed one of 1. Therefore, although the quality remains the same you get a much lower comp test value with this Xvid build than you used to before, simply because the 100% quality reference has changed.

What comp test values should nowadays be considered equivalent to the 60-80% ones we used to consider ideal?

Of course! Such a beautiful and simple answer!
Thanks a lot, Soulhunter.
