Hey. I have searched all over the place for the best settings to use when decoding (playing) Xvid files and all I can find is information on the best settings for encoding (making) Xvid files. I have this Xvid codec installed which I believe is the most recent version:
XviD-1.0-RC2-07022004 (Jambo!) (Koepi's Codec I believe). I guess the only real options to change/alter are DeBlocking (Y), DeBlocking (UV) and Film Effect. Should I leave these options unchecked? When should I use them?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Activate them and you'll see if you like it or not. There are no best settings - give me your eyes and give you your 'best'-settings.

Just play around. I for one dont use any post-processing at all. Some will disagree coz they think a bit deblocking ... can make the image nicer for them but then I again most times I like it as it is. The only thing I usually have to change is brightness but besides that I dont use too much PP.

Also by asking 'for the best xyz' you're violating the forum rules ;)

Yup, asking what's best is a violation. Please re-familiarise yourself with the rules.
