Yes, I know, codecs packs are generally evil. But friends of mine, which are for the much newbies, are always asking me : "Tzim, help me ! Why can't I read this video ?".
Then, i'm a lazy boy, so i prefer install my codecs with one click instead of 3.
And in the end, I would like to make the "world" discover the great player MPC is.
So I compiled a very lite codecpack, which includes the strict minimum for everyone to read (but not encode) the most of video files.
I'm not posting here only to advertise my work, but also to get a point of view from users who know the technicals.
So there it is : Tzim's Lite Codec Pack (http://tlcp.tzim.net/).
Feel free to comment, as I espect a comunity like doom9 to do.
Tzim
PS : I Just reread myself, and I think I should precise what's inside and whats it does.
What's Inside :
- MPC (the latest, as gabest released it)
- Ogg DS 0.9.9.6
- FFDShow
- AC3Filter (automatically disable MPC built-in if chosen)
- VSFilter
- Corevorbis
It also associate files you choose with MPC, as i had some trouble with WM9 when using built-in function. It tweaks MPC (Overlay mixer as default, so it works on most configurations), and it naturally register ax files.
I provide the NSIS script on the download page, for those who would have more details.
