View Full Version : Questions about One Pass Mode

Hello everybody,

I would like to know a few things about the one pass mode of the divx.

If I choose a bitrate, 700 kbps for example, will each frame of the movie be encoded at 700 kbps?

If so, can I expect a filesize with that method?

I'd like to ripp basket-ball matches, filmed by a DV camera. The action is continous, and filmed always from the same place. So an average bitrate should be ok...

What do you think of that?

Thanks in advance...

The bit spend actually varies throughout the movie, but the average bitrate will still be 700kbps, so yes its safe to do filesize calculations based on the bitrate (don't forget you need some space for aduio also!).

Remember that you will need to either de-interlace with an external filter or set the encoder to "De-interlace all frames" for the best results when you work with a DV source.
