is there a 1 program solution to copying a dvd?

i heard someone saying they can take a dvd they own and then stick it in their computer and burn it, but here is the catch.. they said no matter what size the dvd is it will compress it to make it fit on to 1 dvd, all the time... is this true? and if so, what is the program called??

It's called DVD Shrink.

You really should read the forum rules first, especially rule #1: read before asking. Most of these forums are dedicated to the DVD backups, and many different programs for this task are covered. DVD Shrink is one of them.
