Hi there,

i've been trying to create a dvd of an avi file which has 4 minutes less sound then picture ! (though the sound runs fine when watching the movie, in the last 4 minutes there's no sound at all) the avi is encoded with xvid, the sound is encoded with variable bitrate (128-192)

at the final stage Scenarist gave me an error message saying that the bitrate of sound is too high ... i've been trying sevaral things such as decreasing the bitrate of sound, decreasing the bitrate of the movie, .... but no good

the strange thing is that when i let dvd2svcd create a SVCD there's no problem at all !

can someone help me out here?

thanks,

Hi!

If scenarist like video length = audio length, than it have to be.

1: You can shorter the video using virtualdub (cutting the end). Just select the range of your avi where you have the audio and save it with direct szream copy.

2: More difficult than #1, longer the audio. It could be done during the D2S process. Just stop after audio encoding, and use besplit to join a silent 4 minute audio stream to the existing one.

hi there,

when cutting video (even 1 sec) the sound is out of sync ! i guess it has to do with the variable audio bitrate?

try setting your bitrates like so

@mrbass

if this works in case of shorter audio, could you plesae explain the background?

I'm not sure about the shorter audio. When I got that error in scenarist of "bitrate too high" I played with it many times and spent quite a few hours trying to figure out what caused it. I could never figure out what causes it but by setting those bitrate parameters I never got the error again in scenarist when it was muxing. It's something to try that's all.
