Hi all,

Has anyone problems when you try to encode movie with AutoGK and XviD codec selection. If you play movie in regular computer the performance of picture couldn’t be bather than it is, but if you try to play move with Philips 737 component you will get strange effect in every new scene like an Outline or emboss filter. DivX encoded move is without any problem. If anyone knew how to resolve this cind of problem I would be very happy to know the solution. I'm asking for this kind of help because I would very like to use XviD codec instead of DivX.

Thanks for any kind of support.

Hi,

I noticed the same with AutoGK 0.8 and my ESS-based standalone. But encoding "manualy" with VirtualDub and XviD (0.92 and 1.0 rc2) the result is perfect on my sa. Seems to be an issue with the XviD settings AutoGK makes and our sa's?!

I have also notice that if I encode with Gordian Knot packet tools and my settings the result is acceptable. I'm asking the developer ca he repair this mistake?

I'm using the latest one (0.98b) and the result is the same.
Can you advice me what else can I try?

are you sure that you're using ess compatibility mode ? (which can only be enabled during install time). to check that you can see if .ess file in present in AutoGK install dir.

I have just re-encoded something with elves fairies and horrible short trolls ("Holidaying in Wales")*. It works fine on my dvx6100. Are you using v latest xvid? If so Uninstall it!! its not supported yet. install autogk 0.8 which includes the earlier xvid release, which is supported,
http://len0xmirror1.serveftp.net/~len0x/AutoGordianKnot.0.8.Setup.exe
then install autogk0.98 on top, which includes no codecs.

n.b Ess file contains nothing or undisplayable characters??

*humblest grovelling apologies to any welsh people, please feel free to make any jokes about

Thanks len0x,

with AutoGK 0.98 the XviD encoded movies play now very well on my ESS-based sa! Tested two clips with given "custom size" and "target quality 90%". What did you change?

Is there any hope to get an option for manual setting of cropping and resolution? I noticed, that the autocrop feature sometimes (i.e. "Dark City") cropps to much. And when choosing a fixed size of 704 pixels, the picture gets zoomed.

ESS chip seems to be having problems with custom matrixes AutoGK is using. So compaitibily mode just uses standard H.263/MPEG ones.

I have tried installation procedure everything uninstalled then first installed AGK v0.8 and then update v0.98b. The result is the same, Yes and I have enabled ESS. I have noticed that this "emboss" effect is not so much emphasized as before, but it's still disturbing. What combination of settings do you suggests to use that I will achieve maximum quality?
