No :( It's a budget card but many people would love to have a version with CAM, however, they don't want our money or something :S If you wish to watch PayTV you better get some other card.

Hi, I got a VP 1030 (old type, green) and I'm not satisfied with it.
I know that they released the VP 1030a (red) that should work better than mine, but I don't know.
An advice is to buy a Skystar2 (cheap and works well) board and a smartmouse (phoenix), then you can watch your subscrived channels.

Thanks for you reply.
I forgot to say that I'm in Europe, if it's any help. I have a Multipro, if you're talking about a Phoenix burner, it can do that.
Can you PM me If you have some details about it?

Well, I heard a lot about Phoenix, but I haven't tried it yet.
Basically it's an electronic tool that is used to program smart cards (eeproms). It had a very big diffusion when (at least in my country) it was possible to create working pirate smart cards. Nowadays the main Italian main provider (SKY) has changed to Seca2 protection system and so these cards don't work any more.
Since CAMs cost quite a lot (~100€ here), someone made the PoorMan CAM plugin. It works with ProgDVB or other programs. It's a software that allows you to use the Phoenix programmer as a real CAM (so reads and works with your card just like a real CAM does), but the Phoenix is cheaper.
I haven't tried it because I've a VP 1030 with an Aston CAM, so I've no need to use it.
It's a good idea if you buy a FTA DVB-S board (so doesn't support CAMs) and a Phoenix.
PS: read on http://forums.dvbnetwork.com/index.php for more info. There's a lot of knowledged people there. Good search :)

Daaamn Nice! Thanks for your post, Yes I am aware of those smart-cards, they are VERY popular in my area, though I use my multipro for a locking system that I have in my other backup PC.
I'll try to look into it, thanks for the link, again.
