Is it possible to edit (cut out parts and insert other ones with the same parameters) already encoded RV10 video? Like it is with XviD and DivX using VirtualDub.
I encoded 1 minute sample with RealBatch in mkv. And couldn't open it in VirtualDubMod. Is it how it supposed to be?
File is playable in MPC and Real Alternative codecs are installed.
Or maybe I should use another Real codecs?
I searched forum and there is so much information that I am little bit confused. If I missed something please point me to the right direction.

You can cut and join same rmvb files but not as easy as when using vdmod...
You can use rmeditor (comes with the producer package). It is a command line tool. Look at this thread too. (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=69455)

rmeditor doesn't de/encode, so I don't know how it could be lossy...

hi,
if you ask karl, you'll find that the cut and joins lose frames so its impossible to do and cut and join and retain the full source.
So its lossy but not in the usual encoding sense.
I found this out a while ago and karl confirmed that until a frame based editor is written cuts etc of this nature wont be possible without losing some information.

Oh and get RMVB shell extension from www.video-tools.com to get the required info and more about your *.rmvb
