Good evening, this one is driving me nuts.

Things I have tried (followed by a list of the files involved)

1. Rip all, rename the episode .vobs to be in sequence after VTS_01_1.VOB in a new folder. Point D2S at VTS_01_0.IFO and tell it to rip and convert. Result - it only rips and converts the first of six episodes and ignores all of the other vobs.

2. Don't re-rip in D2S just convert the hard drive contents. Result - same as point 1.

3. Get Ifoedit to split the contents of the original dvd rip to 2 dvd5's. Result - when it offers the split point it is only displaying the parts of the first episode so no better than point 1 and 2 above.

In the list below the original vobs VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_02_1.VOB, VTS_03_1.VOB, VTS_04_1.VOB, VTS_05_1.VOB, VTS_06_1.VOB are the episodes.

These were renamed VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, VTS_01_3.VOB, VTS_01_4.VOB etc.

I have also tried it with and without including the 2 second blank video spaces of VTS_01_0.vob etc.

Any pointers much appreciated.

Morning again. Unfortunatly no one could help with the issue above and I didn't find a way myself but now I'm having fun of a different kind with 'Taken' Disk 1 of the sci-fi series.

There are 2 episodes of 1hr 25Mins each on the disk. This is another one that doesn't respond to the usual treatments. Both episodes appear in the same sequence of vob's ie 1_01, 1_02 etc. Therefore in theory there is no need to rip and rename stuff first. But when you fire up D2S it ackowledges the 8 vobs but starts rip from 1_04 skipping the first three and obviuosly only planning to encode one episode?

I have tried just doing a split too two dvd's in Ifoedit as this file structure is the same as X-Files first season and that split into 2 dvd's with two episodes on each without any problem. But when I did this, planning to end up with one episode per dvd I get two structures on my local disk both of which play a blank screen for about 10 seconds in Powerdvd and then finish. I had choosen to copy the menu structure to both disks, but nothing works properly.

Has anyone managed this one?

PS. any input on the Office disk in the first post is still most welcome too ;) .

Regards

I'm having the same problems with The Office Season 2...I'm trying various apps to circumvent the problem, but thus far no luck. If you or anyone happens to figure out a way to back-up these discs I'd love to hear.

I dont know these dvd's specifically but I would try Shrink in Author mode, drag all episodes to left window, set compression to "No Compression" and backup. Then encode this with D2S.
