Hello all,

I am trying to make a dvd (video) side of a DVD-A project. I have the Audio-ts side ready, and am currently trying to compilte the video_ts for inclusion to make the 'hybred' 'universal' disk idea.

I am using scenarist pro 2.6

What i have is 11 tracks of 3 audio streams AC3-st, AC3-5.1, and DTS 5.1.

My original idea was to make 11 slideshows with the same BMP used in the dvd-a project, and use next and previous pcg to link them into 'chapters', unfortunatly, as the music is from a live show, i get 'gaps' in the audio as the pgc moves from 1 to another.

So

Next i tried 1 long single slide show, with all of my BMPS timed to the rrespective audio tracks. This removed the 'gaps' in my audio, but has however left me with the problem of how to chapter the slideshow.

Any one have any ideas? can i 'chapterise' a slide show? can i remove the gaps when 1 pcg moves to another?

all and any help gratefully recieved.

thx

For some reason, Scenarist (I use 2.7 Pro) won't insert chapters into the slide shows even though New Scene option is available. However, you can export the project into script file, create chapters there, and import the script back. The chapters should work just fine, but you will still have an audio gap caused by non-seamless connection of the cells within the slideshow track. It appears you can't do anything about it, at least in Scenarist.

I can suggest a workaround, although it would consume some disc space. You can convert your BMPs to MPEG video clips and then use them in Scenarist as regular video tracks. Here's one method to do it using TMPGEnc:

1. Get each of your songs in .wav or .mp2 format, quality doesn't matter since it's for the timing purposes only.
2. Open TMPGEnc, set your first BMP as Video Source and first song as Audio source. Set output file name to whatever name with .mpg extension.
3. Click on Load button and load DVD template (PAL or NTSC). Also, to save the space you might want to load unlock.mcf template, then click Setting - GOP Structure - I,P Picture Only.
4. Click Start - in a minute it will create a DVD-compliant MPEG file.
5. Go to MPEG Tools - De-multiplex, open the .mpg file you just created, double-click on video stream and save it as .m2v file. You got yourself a video stream with the same length as the audio. Delete .mpg file.
6. Repeat the process for every BMP/song.
7. Import all the .m2v files into Scenarist, create video tracks with your music out of them, and add the tracks to one PGC within a title. For every cell except the first one set Seamless flag.

This will create a title with each song being a chapter with smooth playback. The only downside is that .m2v files are significantly larger than BMPs. If you can't fit everything on one disc now, run the finished DVD through DVD Shink or similar program. It will compress the video but won't affect the audio.
