DVD9 to DVD-R with two computers ??

Hello !

First, I would like to say that the rule "new users will have to wait for 5 days after signing up before they are allowed to post" Is really (but REALLY) stupid !!!!!!! :angry:

And now, my problem :)

I would like to compress a DVD9 to a DVD-R but with two (ore more) computers on a Network !!
Is it a software wich allow to do that ?? (like NeoDivx for the ... DivX)

Dont know of any, but unless you've got an extremely slow computer, or a lightning fast network, it would only slow it down.

... I don't think so !
It works fine with Neodivx to encode DivX so, why not for DVD's :confused:

Obviously I have never done it, but my rationale for my opinion is that a 100 network is gunna take about 15 minutes just to transfer across the 4 gigs (assuming your going to do roughly half of your 9 gig DVD on each box), using DVD shrink to transcode and burn you original DVD on the original box, it would be nearly half finished before you even managed to copy the requisite data to the second computer....then the transfered data has to be encoded, then you have to copy it back, then you have to join it up and burn it. While a software package might do all the steps for you, it is still limited by the transfer speed of the network. As I said hardly worth the effort, perhaps a 1000 network might make it worthwhile, or if your computers were real slow, like sub 1gig units.
