Hi,

as this is the primary forum for audio on Doom9 I'll post it here (I can't find a better place for it..)

Does anyone know of a way to search for audio files with a specific bitrate on a Windows XP system? (I want to rid my computer of all <128 kbps files)

Is there such a separate program or a mod to the built in search function that can do this?

Here's how I'd do it -

Download Winamp 5. Add all the MP3s on your HD to the Media Library. Add a bitrate column (right click - customize columns). Click on this column to organize files by bitrate. Select all the 128k files, then right click > remove > physically remove selected items.

Thanks, I'll try that asap! Do you know it it works on .ogg-files too?

PS. Any other method that you've tried?

Thanks, it works! The Winamp 5 media library doesn't seem to identify VBR-files as VBR-files. Other than that, it works ok!
