Hi there!

Well I have been several months without encoding a single movie, now I'm trying to update myself with the lastest "best practices"... I need you help guys!

Before my "vacation time" VirtualDubMod was the prefered tool when it cames to mux AC3 and AVI. Now, after taking a look at Doom9's "DivX movie with AC3 sound" guide, I see that it's recommended to use AVIMux GUI. As I love VirtualDubMod, before moving to AVIMUX I would very much like to be sure whether it is safe or not to mux AC3 into an AVI using VirtualDubMod... why did Doom9 change to AVIMux?

Thanks in advance,

Joan

I wouldnt use either. Matroska is where its at.

Encode your movie using whatever u like.

Make your ac3 he-aac using nero.

Stick in the mkv container.

My preferred choice at the mo: -

RV10 anamorphic full rez 1/2 cd movie rips
He-aac - half the size of your ac3 when keeping 5.1
subs, chapters dvd movie cover as attachment

Try media player classic.

Gotta be the best player out there.
