AC3 Stereo to AC3 Mono

Sometimes in my DVD reauthoring process i want to get more free space.
How can i turn a AC3 stereo file in a AC3 mono, joining the 2 channel´s into one ??
Can anyone help me ??

I think ac3 is only stereo or multichannel.(Not sure)

btw, you could try using mp2 mono instead.

I´ve got a 96Kbps AC3 (Mono) and a 192Kbps AC3 (stereo)
How can i convert a 192Kbps AC3 to a 96 Kbps AC3 (Stereo to Mono)

You'll have to get a commercial AC3 encoder, I'm not sure which ones if any support mono encoding. Keep in mind that this will gain you very little space and a significant loss in quality.

I use Scenarist ac3 encoder. The only problem is how to turn a stereo AC3 file into a nono streo file.
