help with wav in ac3

if anyone could help i would really appreciate it
i have soundblaster audigy connected to a creative inspire digital 5500 that has dolby digital encoder on it and i can play ac3 files in dolby digital and movies but when i try a .wav file that supose to be dts or what ever i just hear a static noise i tryed with couple of players bs player media player creative player and everytime i get noise i tryed besplit and ac3machine to make them ac3 files but the conversion didnt work if anyone has an idea please help

well i didnt use the besplit gui cause it says on the log somthing about not useing the ac3 codec because it sux or somthing
so i used the besplit command like one line created from a 60 megs wav a 3 megs of ac3 file of course it didnt work and the other option did do somthing because the reciver dolby digital lid lighted
but again noise ?
