Got an AVI file and can't hear the audio, it squeeks. I tried opening it in sevral programs and nothing. A message says that the thing is missing an OGG Vorbis Tah 28460 codec or something like that. I downloaded the codec but nothing helps. Can anyone here help?

Hi,
i wonder where that message came from ... ;) .
First this is the Audio ENCODING section, since you dealing with an AVI a video section might have been better.
Well the audio streams seems to incorporate the OGG Vorbis format.
Ogg btw could mean alot (Vorbis, FLAC, Speex).
But most likely its Vorbis.
You need some DirectShow filters for your MediaPlayer (a source filter and a decoder filter).
OggDS offers both:

CoreVorbis is a Decoder *only* Filter, but newer (though you still need OggDS as a source filter)
http://corecodec.org/project/showfiles.php?group_id=11&release_id=113
Maybe MediaPlayerClassic (by Gabest) is playing this "exotic" AVI more smoothly:

if you need the Win98/ME version
