Can someone point me to a command-line driven conversion tool that supports DivX?
I have a bunch of MPEG TV shows (with more on the way) that need compressing and I'd like to automate it.
Sorry if this is a newbie question, I am a bit overwhelmed at all the tools and options.
Thanks

Well, it's not a command line, but it is simple:
You can use Dr DivX by right clicking on the file >Encode the file using Dr DivX, then check the box "Defer Job for batch encoding", do the same for all your MPGs then click Encode.

You can try "avs2avi".
It's command line utility (you will need AviSynth - hope this isn't a reason to discard avs2avi).
supports 2pass mode, can load codec configuration, fast etc...
See for yourself...
Download avs2avi: http://daveel.leffe.dnsalias.com/
Or you can try this another tool... (never used it but it's there - try)
