Hello People,

I'm trying with TMPG to switch avi to mpeg-2 but when the avi has a AC3-sound TMPG refuse to do the job. I know that TMPG don't support AC3 but in the past I'm almost shure I didn't had a problem with this.

A friend of mine who I gave the same version of TMPG that I
use (TMPGEncPlus 2.58.44.152) together with all my codecs (divx, ac3, etc) and he don't have a problem at all, he can switch avi with ac3 to a mpeg without any problems.

I already tried several old and new versions of TMPG and also the suggestion that I read in this Forum to install the Nimo Codec Pack but also this didn't solve the problem.

I'm getting a little desperate ! Please is there somebody with a possible solution ?

Help Me !

With regards,

Danny (Holland)

@Danny,

I think the best you can do is try to demux the .avi into video and
sound parts with VirtualDubMod, and make an .avs script with
avisource and ac3source. and load the .avs into your tmpgenc.

If the mpg is for dvd demux and use the ac3 in your authoring program. Encode only the video.

Thank u both for the fast reactions.

I tried Virtual Dub already before and this did not do the trick.

Finally I came 2 the conclusion that the error had 2 be old AC3filter with a expired trialdate and this would caused the problem in TMPG. A friend

I have system-restored Windows XP, uninstall al the codecs, filters etc and I installed a new and complete German(!)version of TMPG and out of the blue, everything is working again .... for now.

Ok, my thanks goes 2this forum and may u all live 2 see the dawn.

Greetings,

Danny
