This is what I like to do.
I like to change the picture in select subtitle airier be curs when I have added a new subtitle on my DVD (replays the English one) I like to go to the subtitle menu and select my langue instead of selecting English for my langue. I know that MenuEdit can copy the frame to a bmp file within I can replays the English title, the problem is to put it back in

You can use Photoshop to edit your menu.

Use menuedit to save the frame to a bmp. Then use photoshop to edit the picture. Then use subrip to get the subpic from that part of the menu or make your own in photoshop. Then take the bmp and subpic and make a vob out of it with your authoring program. Then use menuedit to add it back to the menu.

Could you explain it in more details, please?
I'm trying to change one picture from DVD menu - I've exported it as BMP, edited it, but how can I get it back safely? I tried creating m2v from it, then authored it to VOB with TMPG Author and in MenuEdit I did "Replace" on that menu cell. Then I loaded buttons layout and exited. VOBs were changed.
But when I tried to play it, player freezes at entering that changed menu.
What am I doing wrong and what should I do? I also didn't get that "subpic" part of your reply.
Thanks.

Then you need to update the ifo file using ifoedit. Here's the link to the website of menuedit. http://menuedit.dimad.net/ht_me_replace_cell.html
The subpicture is for the button highlights, without the subpic the button won't be highlighted when active. You can use the one from menuedit if you don't mind having square highlights.
And try using a different authoring program, one that allows you to add subpics to the video track.

I've "developed" another solution - in ReJig split the vob by cells, open desired vob in ReJig and use "Remux m2v" to remux new picture stream to original vob, keeping all other streams intact.
Then repair ifos in IfoEdit and it's done :)
Now I need to change one subtitle stream with another, what seems to be bigger problem than I supposed (see my ReJig problems post in IFO/VOB editors forum).

Roger,
Would you please express your "solution" in detail?
thanks

I'll write it from memory, because I need to do something else now...
Open the vob with menu (in my case it was vts_01_00.vob) in MenuEdit. Find the cell with menu you want to edit. In preview, use "Save as bitmap" to save the picture as bmp. Edit it.
Open it in some encoder (I used TMPGEnc) and render that BMP to m2v.
Now open that vob in VobEdit and do "Split" by "CellID". You'll get several separate vobs, one cell each. Now use "Remux m2v" (it should be in Edit menu) on that small vob and choose that rendered m2v video with your edited bitmap.
Now open it in MenuEdit again and use "Replace" on that cell with remuxed vob you've got in previous step. Then repair ifo as described on MenuEdit pages.
That's it - of course, you don't change buttons or something like that, I just wanted to translate/edit some buttons.

Yeah pretty much the same steps, just different programs. The more ways the better, thanks for the info.

Hi Roger,
Is there any way to replace subpicture overlay? Been searching but no success.
Thanks,

I'm sure it is :)
But, actually, that is exactly what I've been trying to avoid :)
"Classic" reauthoring that small cell-vob with new subpic, instead of just "Remux m2v" step, doesn't work?
