Mmmkay....I'm in much need of help. I can't get the BOV thing to work.
I'm just trying to get one to work, and Scenarist won't even simulate it working.
I'm trying to do JohnQ (R1, Infinifilm). But Unfortunately it ain't working.
I've checked to make sure the subtitles aren't over lapping scene boundaries.
I've checked that the button is also created, in the simulation window, but i don't get the action of the button pressing.
So yeah... any ideas?

possiblities:
1. the subpics may not be overlapping scene boundaries but may be so close to the scene change that it is not selectable. try changing the start time so that it is at least 15 frames from a boundary.
2. you may have incorrectly set the button commands. check commands in menuedit.
there may be other possiblities but without further details of your method i'm out of other ideas. (also i dont know the title, and dont own any infinnifilm titles....i dont even know if they are avaliable in oz?)

well, i did everything using DIF4U and ReAuthorist. Even created the script using.
All the subs look to be in place...I'll try the moving 15 frames away thing in a sec.
But as for the button commands, I haven't even set those in my most recent incarnation. I've just been trying to get the simulation window register the button. Like the highlight works...but the action doesn't, as if it's not even there.

sorry mate,
to be perfectly honest i have never used the simulation window (in play mode, which is what i am assuming you are testing in) to confirm whether the buttons have been created.
i always set it up, compile and check the results in WinDVD prior to burning.
primarily i use this approach because you cant check the button commnands in scenarist because they quite often link through the vmg etc which is no longer there.

yeah....thats true....
well, no buttons still....
thanks anyway...
if i don't hear anything in the next couple of days, i'll just forget about it and compile it hoping it works, and if not...well pooh

The button is not there or nothing happens when you press it?

i dont test those in simulation either. although in the sim window i can always see the buttons. sometimes you have to play with the sub colors, opacities.

well, in the simulation window when you press then you should get the color change, I don't.
When I compile it, nothing happens. I have the button commands and everything set, but yeah....

Yes that can be annoying. Go with Jel's suggestions. Scenarist can be a pita tho. Sometimes it's only solvable by deleting the project, including the cache and start all over.
