I have an audio track with what sounds kind of like a low-frequency buzz, and on closer examination it's loaded with "pops" or what we used to call "ringing impulses," at a constant rate of 30 per second. The sound is on the source tape, not any of the equipment being used now. I've tried Goldwave, and Audition, with limited results. Goldwave actually did better, and cleans up the quiet or silent passages pretty good, but its click and pop tool tends to miss some where the good audio signal level is significant. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I could post a sample somewhere, if it would help.
I'd love to know what caused this problem in the first place (it's only on one tape out of a collection), but I'd be happy if I could just fix this one.
