Is there anyone here that has worked with the .pss files that contain the video and audio of an fmv in a ps2 dvd?
Have you demuxed the video and audio of the .pss file?
If so, does your audio have lots of static and do you know how to fix it?

Thanks :)

they are mpeg-2 files force wmp or simalar to play it and you will get video but no audio
PSS_PLEX (http://www.users.on.net/rorr/PSSPlex.htm) use this to demux it

pss files use either uncommpressed pcm (older games)
or commpressed adpcm (newer games)

I've run some through DVD2AVI and had fine results.

Onimusha 1 and GTA3 files. I'll give it a go now with Onimusha 2.

Either Oni2 is different or maybe I only used it for re-encoding the video, not demuxing. It's been a while. But I just ran the PSS through PSS Plex and it just spat out a clear WAV file though.

What game are you ripping the movies off of?

I am ripping Final Fantasy X-2. There is finally a Final Fantasy with dobly digital and I want to make a high quality rip out of it. The addition of dolby digital to ps2 fmv's are new arn't they? Could that be the reason of the problems?
