I cannot really get any answer from any forum. Maybe cus very few knows about this or I was just at the wrong side of the forum...
so please please please any veteran out there just got to know how to simple author a movie titleset with more than one PGC.
I am currently using the DVD2DVD-r with CCE method and author the final output with ifoedit containing menus and extra.
Since I am always adding an extra subtitle language picked up from a divx source from the net... I must demultiplex the files and by doing so I canīt add the other PGCs using ifoedit...
And like authouring from scratch with Scenarist seems just too complexed.... or is there a way the original IFO file could be copied in to preserve the exact same structure?
come on,, help me guys... no luck with the search either

Scenarist is actually not hard to use if you are not building menus, or doing multi-angle, branching etc. Read the guides and give it a try.
Initially I thought it was hard to use too but then I put the effort into trying it...

thanks... but
I have demultiplexed the files already using DVD2DVD-r with CEE. Will Scenarist be able to import the subtitle SUP files?.... the movie file M2V and audio files like .AC3 and .DTS I am sure it would definite import.
I will not try to rebuild the menu, would rather like to keep the original structure from the original ifo file.
but ok... I will read somewhere where it guides me how to actually start a project to put in the different PGCs... first time I saw that program I didnītknow how to start anything.

Yep had the same problem, a dvd without my native languages subs.
(got it in the usa) Had to reauthor it with Maestro and converted
a srt file to stl (also framerate conversion).
Ok for the multi PGC problem Scenarist is great, yep but I
don't have it. Always have used Maestro, But Multi PGC are a bit
harder, and found the answers on this forum from bit and pieces.
DIF4U found in the main movie VTS 3 PGC :
1 movie
2 logo
3 blank
In Maestro place the 3 m2v files behind each other
put a extra chapter point at the end of 1 and at the end
of 2.
now for sound just put 1.ac3 in the first stream and you
will find that you can't put the second behind the first.
So place the 2.ac3 at the second stream. Now for the hard part
move 2.ac3 to the start of 2.m2v so it will be in sync with the
start of the logo. If you have a 3.ac3 do the same.
Now create 3 Playlists, (do a search on the forum "maestro playlist")
1 playlist chapter 0-end movie
2 playlist chapter endmovie- endlogo
3 playlist endlogo- end
Right click playlist properties for playlist 1 disable
audiostreams 2,3,4 ....
for playlist 2 disable 1,3,4,5....
for playlist 3 well 1,2,4,5...
(when you don't disable the audiostreams you will have no
sound with the logo because it's stream 2)
Compile and rename vts (like always)copy past etc...
Only 1 thing to watch ! using ifoupdate you have to
select Maestro and not standard in the options.
(Maestro ads a extra PGC) Works for me.

hehe, my funny problem with scenarist is that I donīt even know how to start a project, just canīt select my files anywhere to actually start working on it :/

Thats wat guides are for.. :D
Well I still can do (almost) everything with Maestro, and she works like magic.

I tried selecting the Scenarist as for the Athouring mode in DVD2DVD-R but an error comes up when I start the process ... so after a few sec this comes up
index ausserhalb des gültigen Bereichs
which means... I think....
index outside of the valid area
but what does it really mean?!
I have scenarist 2.7,, is it too old maybe? or isnīt it even the NT version??

Don't know how to start a project ? Are you serious ? RTFM...
The doom9 guide about scenarist says :
"So if you're serious about DVD authoring then read on, otherwise there's plenty of other DVD authoring programs which allow you to make more or less sophisticated DVDs with less effort."
"It's generally a very good idea to read the Scenarist manual about 3 times before you start using the program. "
I usually don't have any problem in understanding any new software, but Scenarist is really wired some times. Some things can be done with your mouse, some can be done only with keyboards etc...
I come to the conclusion : you can't start Scenarist, click here and there, and have something that works. It'll take you a lot of time trying to understand it without rading the manual and threads here.
You'll have to invest time on it, or, as Doom9 says, use a more simple tool. It seems that DVDMAestro is simpler yet nearly as powerful.
First, read the manual. Then, read something like that : http://www.dvd-replica.com/DVD/index.php

yes it is true... but the thing is.... without trying to whine
scenarist is very very complex and most what can be read including the manual is really very overwhelming. I donīt want to know the whole program, creating menus and such, I just want to author a simple movie vobset with more than 1 PGCs by adding the already finished encoded .M2V .AC3 .DTS and subtitle files created from CCE and then doing an IFOupdate with the original IFO
it is just like Photoshop and Flash... I donīt want to read the whole bible for the simple task I want to create. I did a flash intro a few weeks ago starting from scratch. Luckily there were a couple of Learnings that I could follow step by step for the basics. and it happened I had to ask a question to a forum which I really got a fast reply with even pictures guiding me. That is very appreciated. So I was done with the intro a week after.

My knowledge about Scenarist is only concerning authoring from scratch. I don't know how to author something and do an ifoupdate on it from the original DVD. I'm sorry...
Try to redo everything with the Big Three (see the forum concerning the big 3)
