Please help ... big three problems

If anyone can help me with my problems, that would be greatly appreciated.

So I'm trying to back up one of MY dvds (apoc now redux), and it's too long (3h) for DVDshrink to handle. So I ventured into the world of the big three. Having previous experience in DVD-->xvid/ogm/xcd (using dvd2avi, avisynth plugins etc). I assumed I would have no problems following the doom9 guide. Well, I did. So here goes. I backed up the dvd to an img file, installed all the software (I hex edited the docce4U exe to accept CCE 2.67), ran doitfast4u which after selecting the only VTS (and only PGC track 3:22:21) which would need reencoding (no extras on disc) I hit "Do it". So then DVD decryptor did it's business, along with vobsub, and DVD2AVI project was created (I'll post all the log files in a new message). So now I have a 226 MB video ts folder.

So now on the the encoding step. Reauthorist started by itself, and after adjusting settings (6 pass), autosize etc. Again, there was only on PGC chain (of proper length). So I hit encode, and then it seemed like reauthorist did it's thing. I got a new VTS03 directory with the following files in it:

So I think the filesizes look weird (on the DVD all VTS03 vobs are 7.66 GB) , but I continued on. I hit the "author it" button in reauthorist. Then I go on to the scenarist step. I select my reauthorist script file, specific a name for my scn file, and hit OK. It starts importing all this stuff. After about 15-20 mins or so I get an error message "Importing failed". The "import" tab in scenarist pro says:

So there you go. I can go no further in the guide. I hate my life. Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong? If there's some kind of info that I didn't provide, just let me know. Again, any help would be very much appreciated.

if those are his file sizes....they look really messed up.
if your VIDEO_TS folder is only about 300 megs, thats over 4 gigs for video+audio+subs.

You reencoded video has teh size of about a meg. Perhaps you have a trial version of CCE, or somehow it was ended prematurely.

You could Open DoCCE4U manually, load teh file ReAuthorist_NewDoCCE.Txt file into DoCCE4U and then double-click the new entry in the list, and make the sure then length is right in there. Then press the encode button. Then reopen reathorist and select the Author button, and then continue on. Depending on the system and whatnot, encoding takes a bit. 4 pass on my computer with a 2 hour movie takes about 3-4 hours.

Thats just my guess, that the encoding failed.

hmmmm ... so I loaded it manually, and the length was correct.

CCE is going right now, but it only says Pass 1/1 even though I specified 6 passes. And only 2 hours (AMD 2000+) to encode ... seems fishy.

be sure to click the button that says Add Job when you edit, so the changes stick, and template...MultiPass or RobShot

kick ass... so that seemed to work out alright. After manually loading that file (6 pass 3hr movie = 10 hr encoding), scenarist worked fine. Burned the bastard to a DVDR, and it worked fine in my standalone.

I'm not quite sure ... whatever the case, the encode didn't work properly on the first go. I did try to do the whole backup process from scratch twice (with the exaxt same result). Well .... I guess I should try another disc now and see what happens.

well, if you loaded the same DoCCE file that reauthorist made, i would assume DoCCE4E is at fault. Some how.....
I would personally use BatchCCEWS which has native support for 2.67 so you don't have to hex the file.
