Hi Len0x..thank you for this fine software.
As you know movie's credit section, especially with scrolling up or down consumes the highest bit rate during encoding because it is constantly moving. For 5 min credit length, it could easily take 50 - 60 MB space. Manual GK has method to encode credit separately and makes it only 5MB (q=20) in size. I don't assume this method can be implemented in AutoGK due to its principle for literally "one point click" operation.
But , is there something we can do ?

yes, ask in avisynth forum for a filter, which determines start of credits, or code such a filter yourself :)

How about providing another variable as a "start of credit" frame in the advance button. By the default, it will be the same number as the last frame of the movie. When this field is altered by the user AND if the frame number << last frame, then 1 pass q mode for credit is enabled.
I guess this will be too much for you ;)

you know this might work for a config file... coz no way I'm gonna put that into GUI - how newbie user suppose to know what to put there ? (and they will really like to know, believe me) :)

In the absence of an avisynth filter or any other other automatic way to determine the start of the credits, how about just an option to manually specify the frame numbers where the credits start and end? Why wait a few months for an avisynth filter, when we could just manually open the file in Vdub or DVD2AVI and quickly get the frame number where the credits begin and end. Would this be easy to implement?
I think this is something I'd rather do manually anyway, given how some movies have extra footage during the credits - I'd trust myself to determine this more than I'd trust any automatic method.
I agree that in this state, this feature should go in a config file or hidden Ctrl-F10 type gui.
