Greetings everyone
I've been an avid user of the wonderful program AZID for a couple of years now.
Kudos the to author of this awesome program.
I've been noticing a quirk with newer 5.1 AC3 material.
I've used AZID to convert 5.1 material in the past with no problems.
Doesn't matter if I use the older AZID I've used for years, or the new AZID_P4 from 12/2003.
After running AZID to convert a certain 5.1 AC3 file to 2 channel WAV, the overal sound seems to be focused on the right channel. The left channel sounds weak. Yet, this is only noticable on certain equipment. Like home and car stereos. Sounds fine on the PC. I've even opened the WAV in CEP2 to check the db gain of each channel and the average RMS is practically the same for Left and Right channels.
I've been told the rear surround channel needs to be phased 90 degrees in the downmix to fix this. Yet, I don't think AZID has such a parameter. Does it? Or is there another method to achieve the results I want?
Thanks in advance
