hi. i recently bought 24 (series 1) and it's on 6 cds. (4 episodeson each cd, about 200 minutes per cd).

i want to back the whole series up, but i don't want to use 6 cds. i was hoping i could get 4 or maybe even three.

one question though:

is it possible to copy two dvd's with menus, and then put them on one dvd, and have a menu to choose which of the other two menus to go to? or am i being to hopeful?

if that wont work then i will have to create a menu for all the 6 or 8 episodes right?

Fitting 2 dvds of 24 in one would seriously degrade their quality. I wouldn't recommend it.

It is possible to do it by re-authoring the two titlesets. that's the easiest approach. The most difficult is to rename the vobs and mess around with the ifo commands, if u know what u r doing.

However if u skip the retaining of the original menus, u can follow maa's guide (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=56225) on the subject.

Keeping the original menus when authoring two DVDs to one is rarely possible.
The menus themselves need to be in VTS_01_0.VOB and the instructions musn't reference the VMG.
Heres a way of testing your VTS for commands that lead to the VMG.

Move these files to a Safe directory:
VIDEO_TS.VOB
VIDEO_TS.IFO

Open DVDFab and "Create a Video Manager" (VIDEO_TS.IFO)

Play with your favorite player.

If the menu works and the film plays alright you've won!

It'll work in DVDLab as a second VTS and if you realy want to get into editing you can replace the first film after compiling.
