Is this commmen. The seamless branching dvd im working on, i have just noticed that a couple of the vobid's are interlaced as i can see combing, i never notice before. It seems that vobids 1,2,4,5,7 are progressive, these are for the normally version, but voids 3,6 are interlaced, these are used along with 1,4,7 in the directors cut.
Now ive gotta re-encoded 3,6 interlaced. Should have checked all vobids in the first place.

Well you need all vobids of course to succesfully recreate the entire movie. Never seen partially interlaced vido myself, but since it are seperate vobids (seperate pieces of video) it could well be possible.

The only movie I"ve seen this on is "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" (R1). So, I don't really think it's a common practice.

Well i'll re-encode the two vobids that are interlaced.Good thing i noticed now, as i encoded them all progressive, no deinterlacing.May have had picture problems when it came to those two ids.

I see whats happening, the two vobids that are in the directors cut are parts that are adding in, as these two ids seem to start progressive but then go interlaced where the new stuff is.So these vobids i will encode interlaced.
Man thats a wierd play progressive > interlaced > progressive..

i produced some dvd documentaries and mixed interlaced and progressive material - i believe star trek dvds are like this as well.
