TMPG avi file?

Hey all!

Is it really necessery for me to covert a .avi file that I have to Mpeg 2 to author on a dvd? I have "ulead dvd workshop" and I just burn the file onto the dvd without converting.

Any ideas?

ulead must convert it automatically (no doubt at poorer quality than a quality encoder like TMPGEnc), because DVD uses MPEG2 (or MPEG1).

So yes it is necessary to convert, and yes ulead is converting the file...
