Forgive me if i'm out of line here,
but i was wondering...
Up to Koepi 24062003 and my crappy system all was fine.
1GB Athlon @ 1.34
384 RAM (pathetic 100 MHz SDRAM)
WinXP Pro SP1
And around 280MB Free RAM when encoding starts.
My standard script (heavy VHS denoise - ask and ye shall recieve) &
around 100MB of RAM remained free.
With new XviD builds RAM seems to be an issue?
Same system.
Same script.
Same clip.
Same amount of free RAM before encoding.
Not the same amount of free RAM after encoding starts.
Drains it straight to 0MB, then halts the comp, waiting for approx.
additional 50MB to drain from other apps.
All Betas had done this, so the question is:
Supposed to do so or not?
Chroma optimizer: yes
ME 6
VHQ 3
I-Frame interval 240
Quants capped @ 2-31
Max Consecutive B-frames: 100
Quant ratio 150
Quant offset 100
B-Frame sensitivity 0
If i didn't mention it, it wasn't enabled.
Only difference is with overflowcontrol,
and i tried to set them to the same (10,10,20), to no avail.
Final note:
This is not a bug report or a rant.
I'm just curious if this is normal or not.
If not, a detailed bugreport may follow.
