OK, let's try to check the origin of the problem. Do the MPG files play with PowerDVD or WMP?

If they don't, does the MPV play?

If it doesn't, does preview show you something?

If it does, load the AVS in VirtualDub and see if you find something strange.

You are doing a 5 pass encode, and your speed is 3.52, that's a monster system you have! ;)

They play in Powerdvd and WMP,but no Video only sound.

I can play the mpv in Powerdvd not WMP, but still no Video.

The preview.vob shows Video no sound.

the .mpv and .mpg loads fine in Virtualdub but I cant see any video/picture when moving the slider.

Not really ;) dunno why it goes so fast

This means the muxing has no video.

This means there is no video output from CCE, then not in muxing.
[quote]The preview.vob shows Video no sound.
By preview I meant the DVD2SVCD preview mode, in the conversion tab. You must read the guide and find it. It allows you to see stills. Please report if the stills show.

Load the AVS file in Virtualdub, not the MPV or MPG.

Yeah,it shows sample pictures when clicking on preview.

Yeah,I can see the picture now when moving the slider in VirtualDub.

So any ideas?

OK, so we have narrowed the problem to be during or after CCE. Please use CCE and open the last encoded project. Go to the main file. Enter and select "Bit allocation" and move the slider to move though the VAF file.

Can you see the movie normally in the view window? Select show "Q" on the graph and see if it is all green (hopefully). Small grey spots are normal.

not sure what you mean,I opened the CCE and the Avisynth script file dummy and clicked on edit and then on settings,a new window came up and click edit.So I could move the slider, and I could see the film go through.

Not sure where I can do that.In CCE? what shall I open?

Can it be my CCE that is the problem? what version do you use?

thx for helping me out matey

Well, time to read the CCE Manual. ;) But what you did is good. You're close. I just want to make sure the VAF is OK. So go ahead and read.

I use CCE 2.67, but 2.50 is similar AFAIK.

It should be in your programs menu (or in the CCE program folder). :o It is a PDF file.

If you ask what is a PDF file I'll shoot you with my remote laser beam. :D

If you did not obtain a legal working copy of CCE Trial or something, then we cannot help you.

The point is that if you see the VAF correctly, them the problem may be at muxing time (you have confirmed the muxed file does not play, and it should, provided you have the MPEG-2 codec installed).

But since your CCE encodes so fast, and your system is not the last box, I tend to think there is something wrong with that.

So to discard CCE problems get a working copy of TMPGEnc trial and repeat the encode (restart from scratch), a small chapter would do. I want to see if your D2S intall can produce a working SVCD or not.

I found the .pdf file but what shall I do with it? do I need a program?

LOL j/k
:D I've read through the file and I think I will try a new version of CCE :p

will post how it goes.

Did you actually read Q8 in the CCE FAQ? It doesn't really talk about source corruption, but about system stability...

Did you try TMPGEnc as suggested to test the integrity of your install?
