I've used DVD Shrink and DVD2One regularly for DVD9 to DVD-R transfers (and favour the latter slightly). After reading several threads here, I bought IC8 because it seems to get overall highest marks for quality (and I don't mind spending a bit of time to get that quality).
The first DVD I tried to back up with IC8 was BBC's 'Walking with Dinosaurs' and, to cut a long story short, IC8 made mistakes! What I mean is no errors were reported during or after burning (using CDCheck). But PowerDVD hit the same spot each time and shut down (as it does when it hits a navigation error). My stand-alone player played through the glitch, but you could see the suggestion of a second scene open up lower screen before the dialog moved on. I've tried many combinations to get round this - HD-to-disc, HD-to-image, upgrade to 8.04, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW. Same story.
WwD seems to be a particularly complex DVD, with two angles and picture-in-picture but I wonder if anyone else has come across this kind of thing with IC8? Is there any combination of settings (hidden or otherwise) that I can use to avoid this? Otherwise I've wasted my money - I just can't trust it.
TIA,
Alan
