I have been testing this recently on my whole dvd collection since its something that I noticed recently. I have used InstantCopy to rip backups in the past, but mostly just to an image on my hard drive. Then I use Instant Drive to check their playback.
I plan on buying a burner later, but I want to have the process down before that. A few months ago, I had no problems. Images burn clean and well. But just recently i did a complete system wipe and now i cant get any of my movies to copy clean.
I get the same thing about 20min into the movie or so, never the same amount of time. It will skip to the next chapter. It can happen several times throughout the movie and re-imaging never really helps. Most of the time it is in the same exact spot each burn, but not the same spot per movie. It is almost like it hits "weak" spots in the image so it just jumps to the next chapter. I am using the newest version of InstantCOPY in coop with AnyDVD to make the images. But I have also tried DVD Decrypter and DVD SHrink with about the same problem.
Sound familiar to anyone? Any Ideas? As I said this is a fairly new problem, as this wasn't happening before my HDD wipe. I tried installing the newest ASPI layer, but I don't even know if that will do anything. I am fairly new to the DVD scene.
