no b-fram in interlaced mode

I am using DivX 5.1.1 pro(adware). My original footage is 480x480 interlaced avi captured from a camcorder. It is compressed by Pic Mjpg at 19. I used the home-theater profile with b-frame checked at 2000kbps, 3-pass. But the final result has no b-frame at all. I used to use the same configuration, except bite rate at 1200kbps, to encode a 320x240 non-interlaced avi. The result has lots of b-frame. Does DivX interlaced mode has no b-frame at all?

According to the Official DivX 5.1 Guide (http://www.divx.com/support/guides/DivXGuide51.pdf), page 75:Bi-directional encoding is not performed when Performance/Quality mode is set to Fastest.But I could find no specific settings restrictions (other than Profile restrictions) for interlaced content.

I am using multi-pass, (3-pass), stardard mode.

I think that b-frames may be unsupported in Interlaced mode. I've had a very brief discussion with the engineers on this in the past, and this is something I'll definately note in the next revision of the guide (unless of course we add support for b-frames/interlaced).

I'll do a situation check tommorow and see what I can find out :)

I checked with Gej and B-frames are disabled in Interlaced mode.
