Hey, even thought i followed the guides on using IFOUpdate and every time after I use it my backup screws up.
I.e. after I update the original ifo with the authored ifo the new updated ifo doesn't open in DVD Shrink or any other programs, if I burn to dvdrw with those ifos the only dvd player it works in is mine (Liteon LVD 2001) the other 2 home dvd players JVC ones it just keeps spining and not doing much else.
If I open the new authored ifos with something like DVD Shrink it works all ok and scans the whole movie without a problem.
So is using the ifo update really needed coz every time I use it the project goes tits up for me.
I'm using version 0.78 of IFOUpdate and v2.7.0.0241 of Scenarist.
In this case I'm backing up Analyze That and it has 2 VTS sets which were both re-encoded.
Any advice or help will be highly apreciated

Did you performed a 'Get VTS Sectors' w/ IFOedit?

Well when I look in the log, it seems to have done it, but if not do I do that before I press to update the ifo or after?

Hey, even thought i followed the guides on using IFOUpdate and every time after I use it my backup screws up.
out of interest have you tried this guide *** An easier way to do the IFOUpdate step - By Eyes`Only *** (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=63841) and that you are only updating your reauthored ifos. if performed correctly you should never (...well in my experience) need to correct vts sectors in ifoedit following ifoupdate...unless you have stripped things following your ifoupdate step.
if I burn to dvdrw with those ifos the only dvd player it works in is mine (Liteon LVD 2001) the other 2 home dvd players JVC ones it just keeps spining and not doing much else. just a thought but has any -RW disks been playable on the JVC standalones?
you can chek your player compatability at dvdrhelp.com. also check your media.
So is using the ifo update really needed

I did use that guide by Eyes Only, but it still seemed to screw up if I opened the ifos in DVDShrink, the JVC players seem to play most media that I through at them, yes the +&- media r/rw too.
Well i just retried the eyes only guide but the looks of it shrink has a cache that I dont know how to clear so I just made an img with IMG Tool, mounted with daemon played in PowerDVD it seemed fine so just putting it onto a DVD-R and going to test on the standalones.
Lets hope it works ^^

What's the need to run the DVD through DVD Shrink afterwards? I believe it's known that DVD Shrink rejects a DVD after the Big3 method. I've never had DVD Shrink like the output from the Big3, but everything else is perfect. And thus, it plays back in over 6 different DVD players flawlessly. I have noticed that if you run the VOBs through IfoEdit (Correct VOBU, tables, etc), then Shrink will like the files once again. But I see no need since my DVD is already of the correct size and doesn't need any shrinking.

The only reason I ran it through DVDShrink was to check if the IFOs seem to work ok after the ifoupdate.
I'm just gonna go try the dvdrs on the standalones in a minute.
