Hi
I've got a svcd with two langauges.
On my PC, I can select the one I understand (which is language #2).
On my TV DVD player, where I really want to play the SVCD (kids' stuff) I can't.
SO I'd like to create a new SVCD copy of the original one, but with just one language available.
can anyone help ?
TIA,
Edo
BTW, I am somehow familiar with DVD2SVCD, DVDShrink.

You have to demux the MPEG (with the MPEG tools of TMPGEnc or another prog). You should get 1 video file (.mpv) and 2 audio files (.mp2). Re-Mux the audio you want with the video file and you're done !
Hope this helps

THANK YOU!
I did not know TMPGEnc had that handy tool.
Now for the surprise ... I created a new SVCD project in nero 6
added the mpeg file I got from muxing the streams ... and nero doens't want to to burn.
This will be tonight's investigation ;-)
cheers,

What prog did you use to remux ? Did Nero agree to burn the original MPEG ?

Hi
I used tmpgenc mpegtools for both demux and remux
the result is an mpg file that I added to the mpeg folder in a new nero6 svcd project, but the 'burn' button stays disabled :(((

You have to try to reburn your original SVCD. If Nero is OK, then the problem comes from the mux/demux, if not, then there's another problem with the SVCD or with Nero.
You can try VCDEasy (http://www.vcdeasy.org/) to burn your MPG. It's a shareware, here's the last freeware version (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/vcdeasy.cfm).
Hope this helps

EDIT : if you put the mpeg file in the MPEG folder of Nero it won't work ! You have to drag and drop the file in the lower part of the screen (just like when creating an audio CD). See this guide (http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/articles/burnsvcd_nero.html).

thanx a lot
I just took the mpeg that came out of tmpgenc mpeg tools, added it to a new vcdeasy project - that created a bin/cue image which i burned .... and now the kids are watching the disc on the tv player
it's just perfect.
cheers!

If the TMPGEnc muxer gives you trouble, you can also try the bbmpeg muxer ... it has been very reliabel for me & is also the one used in dvd2svcd.

...oops! that was it! anyway, VCDEAsy did the trick and as I said, the SVCD is now playing perfectly on the TV player.
thanks again!
