I've never had great success burning DVDs, I always end up with locks, or jumps, blocky picture etc.., this always seems to happen towards the end of the movie.

My writer is a Pioneer 106 and I've been using DVD Shrink 3.1 to do my ripping and burning, I've tried various media and am currently using Discrite +R.

Is it the copying process I'm using or is it my player?

Please help.

This is typical of media your player isnt happy with.

Try some other discs. Be sure to go by the dye type and not the 'brand' name. I use Ritek G04 discs. Havent had a problem yet.

I've just posted a problem which was similar to yours...I am able to rip, compress and burn discs but when playing back towards the end the discs start freezing and jumping. it was suggested the discs you were useing were the problem..did different discs sort the problem out and if so would you mind letting me know what ones you now use???? Much appreciated.

_Silko_ thanks for your reply..I presume from your response you haven't quite cracked it yet?...From the replies I've got it seems that the discs are the problem so am about to get some ritek or afaik discs (as soon as I find out where to buy them)..will let you know how I get on once i've got some discs. ps. I have been using 'nero express' when burning and have found it works good ( apart from the freezing at the end!!!!!) any particular reason ure using the 'imaging tool' to do ure burning.

No reason at all why I use ImgTools - again its free and has an easy to get on with interface, does all what it says on the box.

If you've seen my reply to undersizing the rip, you'll probably need shrink, If I remember correctly DVD Decrypter doesn't allow you to dictate a size, shrink does. (I maybe wrong of course).

I've still got around 20 discrite discs left, so will try the undersize method, let me know if different media works for you.
