One stupid question for vdubmod developers :=)

Maybe it can sound stupid, what are the purpose of those red vertical lines? that appear between blue ones, on the "status window" when compressing a movie in the tab called "video".
Maybe are they keyframes?
Note: It's only for my own interest, so take your time for reply :p

It's a bar graph showing the size (in kilobytes) of each frame, as they are encoded. The red ones are key frames, the blue ones are delta frames.
