View Full Version : oggenc2 -s limited to 1.0 ... why?

Hi,

When converting an AC3 to WAV with AZID, the WAV file is usually really quiet. With LAME I can scale the audio with whatever factor I want, but with OGGENC2 I can only scale between 0.0 and 1.0 why is that?

I could norm the WAVs with AZID -a, but that's really slow, and I don't wont it to be normalised to 0.0db but a little lower to avoid clipping.

Any workaround?

TIA

Use BeSweet (http://dspguru.doom9.net) + hybridgain. One step AC3>Vorbis with no intermediate files, full floating point process, and hybridgain should fit your needs well.
