Does anybody know why Scenarist does NOT let me add chapters? When I try, I get the error message that "A scene already exists on the timeline." Well of course it does - the default scene! I have tried this with almost every track in my scenario and none of them will let me add a chapter.

Can anybody help me out? BTW, thanks so much for this website!!

Sure the message isn't "A scene already exists on the timecode."?

That means you are trying to add a scene where one already exists. You need to drag the slider down the bottom, or enter the value in the timecode box up top and hit enter in order to get the slider at the exact desired point. You can also use RB's SceneImport to import chapter lists now.

Yes, you're right, it does say timecode. However, I have tried to slide the indicator in the scene timeline and I have tried to enter the number by hand, both get the same error message.

What now, Mr. Wizard?! :scared:

Try typing them in a text file and then use SceneImport to import the chapter list (see RB's sticky in dvd authoring forum).

e.g.

00:00:00:00
00:09:18:06
00:18:40:00
00:30:55:04
00:40:10:19
00:52:36:07

Possibly you are not moving the right cursor. To move cursor across timeline, you have to use cursor, which is above browser line, where you can browse along the track timeline (well, grafics would be better).
Well, in Track editor window bottom track says "Scenes", so in bottom part of this "Scene" track contain time marks, and at beginning there is that cursor you have to move.

Yes, I am moving the correct cursor - thanks though. I have successfully created scenes in other scenarios with other media. That is what really puzzles me.

I will try the text list thing - though I wish that were not necessary with a full-featured program such as this.

Thanks everybody.
