Subtitles to right & cut off authoring ifoedit

I have done 3 normal movie only conversions using tmpgen,vosub,and dvd2avi and then ifoedit in author mode to combine the video, audio, and subtitle streams together. The first and third movies came out perfectly.
On the second movie the subtitles are way off to the right instead of centered and the last half of the sentence is chopped off. Additionally the print size is bigger than in the two successful movies or the original movie which is L.A. Confidential.
I have tried S2S on left margin setting but while it moves the subtitles over a bit the basic problem is still there.
I assume that some ifoedit settings need to be changed by hand but i do not have a clue as to where to begin and seek your help dear readers.
Oh and for cross checking I used DVD2One movie only mode and the subtitles came out the correct size and centered.

I guess it could be a reason of wide and full screen setting.

It could be that you have used the wrong subpicture for the wrong screen type.

Thankyou. Well let's assume you are right. I used subrip to find the subtitles. It found two sets and I tried both but they both ended off to the right. Subrip also told me it found captions. Maybe I have captions and not the subtitles?
As a practical matter what should I try next? The two sets I know about are at 20 and 24. I demuxed both with Vobedit.

Derrow is 100% right! But I still do not know how to fix.
On one of the perfect DVD's accessing the ifo file with ifoedit it reports:
Vid Mgr Menu Attrib
Video: MPEG-2 720*576 ( PAL ) ( PAL 625/50 )
and a few lines down
VTS-1 Video: MPEG-2 720*576 ( PAL ) ( PAL 625/50 )
On the imperfect DVD subtitle wise it reports:
Vid Mgr Menu Attrib
Video: MPEG-1 720*480 ( NTSC ) ( NTSC 525/60 )
and a few lines down
VTS-1 Video: MPEG-2 352*288 ( PAL ) ( PAL 625/50 )
How do I fix up these blatant inconsistencies?

The problem is solved. I thank everyone for their help.
What happened was that I was encoding at 760 but tempgen wizard without my noticing it changed it to 325 where as on the two successful dvds it made no such changes.
I reencoded setting back by hand tempgen to 760 and of course the graphic subtitles now work as they and the resolution of the video match. This posting is closed. Thankyou again.
